Terms of Reference
The Parent Consultative Committee has been established to provide a mechanism to further enhance parental involvement in the decision-making and communication processes at Xavier Children’s Support Network. The Committee also promotes a
co-operative approach between parents and management and aims to provide management with information and advice concerning relevant parental issues. The PCC also complements our accountability requirements to funding bodies.
Functions of the Committee

Provide input into overall planning and operation of Xavier services.

Assist in the development and review of relevant policy and procedures.

Advise on mechanisms for obtaining appropriate feedback from families.

Considers measures for enhanced training and education of staff and parents.
Committee Structure
Membership of the Committee shall comprise of both Xavier management and parent members.
Role of Committee Members
To represent his or her views as a consumer of Xavier’s services.
It is not the role of the parent members to solicit responses from other parents, or to field complaints from other parents. Xavier’s Complaints and Disputes policy and procedures is the effective process to handle these issues.
Role of Management Committee Members
Listen to parent input and consider their feedback as part of the overall management and development of services.
Role of all Committee Members
Ensure that respect for confidentiality and privacy is adhered to in relation to certain matters discussed within the PCC Committee meetings.
Nomination of Committee members
Expressions of interest in becoming a parent member of the PCC will be requested through the Xavier Newsletter every twelve months. Parent members are asked to serve on the committee for a period of twelve months before a subsequent expression of interest is made.
Committee Meetings
The PCC Committee shall liase via emails on a bi-monthly basis, on the first Friday of every second month, or as required to meet the needs of the group. The committee should carry out their duties in the spirit of this term of reference and be prepared to undertake the following:
